Technical Requirements

The manuscript must comply with the following technical requirements:

text editor: Microsoft Word for Windows (version 6.0 or later);

page format: A4;

page margins: 2 cm on all sides;

the text must be arranged in two columns;

spacing between columns: 1 cm;

first-line indent: 0.5 cm;

line spacing: single;

font: Times New Roman, 10 pt;

pages must not be numbered;

manuscript length: from 5 to 10 pages;

language of the article: Ukrainian or English.

 

Figures (diagrams, graphs, schemes, photographs, etc.) must be submitted in black and white and placed after the first reference to them in the text. Figures may be arranged either within one column or across the full page width in portrait orientation or, if necessary, in landscape orientation. Figures should be placed directly in the text of the article, not inside tables. Captions and explanatory notes should be placed below the figure.

Formulas must be prepared using Microsoft Equation or another compatible mathematical editor. The formatting style must be mathematical, with a font size of 10 pt. Formulas may not be placed in tables. Formulas longer than 8 cm should be split into separate lines; in exceptional cases, they may be placed across the full page width. Formula numbers should be aligned to the right in parentheses.

Tables should be presented in portrait orientation; if they are large, landscape orientation is allowed. Each table must have a thematic title centred above it. The length of a table must not exceed one page. For large tables, a font size of 8–9 pt is allowed.

 

Structure of the Article

The manuscript must be structured in accordance with the following requirements.

At the beginning of the article, the UDC should be indicated in capital letters, bold type, aligned to the left.

After the UDC, with one blank line, the following information should be provided: author’s initials and surname, academic degree, academic title, position, ORCID, affiliation, and institutional address. This information should be aligned to the left, while the author’s surname and initials should be in bold type.

After the author information, with one blank line, an abstract of 1800–2000 character, including spaces, should be placed. The abstract must be formatted with justified alignment and a first-line indent of 0.5 cm. It is recommended that the abstract include the following elements: purpose of the study, methodology, results, limitations and assumptions, practical value, scientific novelty, and significance.

After the abstract, keywords should be provided in the amount of 8–10 words.

Then, after one blank line, the TITLE OF THE ARTICLE should be given in capital letters, bold type, and justified alignment.

After the title, with one blank line, the main text of the article should begin, formatted in two columns with 1 cm spacing between the columns.

 

The main text of the article must contain the following structural elements:

1. Problem statement.

This section should present the problem in a general form, substantiate its relevance, and explain its connection with important scientific or practical tasks.

2. Analysis of the recent researches and publications.

This section should provide an analysis of scientific studies and publications from the last 5–7 years, including foreign sources, the share of which should be at least 40%, in which the solution to the problem considered by the author has been initiated. It is also necessary to identify the previously unresolved parts of the general problem addressed by the article.

3. Statement of the problem and its solution.

This section should formulate the purpose of the article, define the objectives of the study, and present the main material with full substantiation of the scientific results obtained.

4. Conclusions.

This section must contain the conclusions of the conducted research, as well as the prospects for further studies in the relevant field.

5. References.

The list of references must contain at least 10–15 sources. The share of self-citations must not exceed 30%. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and correctness of the data provided in the reference list. References to cited sources in the text should be indicated by numbers in square brackets. The reference list must be formatted in accordance with the requirements of DSTU 8302:2015. Each source must contain a DOI or URL.

At the end of the article, information must be provided in the second language of the journal: in English if the article is written in Ukrainian, or in Ukrainian if the article is written in English. This block must contain:

the initials and surnames of the authors (in bold, left-aligned);

the TITLE OF THE ARTICLE (in capital letters, bold, left-aligned);

the abstract (justified, with a first-line indent of 0.5 cm);

keywords in the amount of 8–10 words.

 

Submission Procedure

Original scientific articles that correspond to the journal’s scope and have not been previously published or submitted simultaneously to other scientific journals are accepted for consideration in the Scientific and Technical Journal “Technogenic and Ecological Safety.”

The author shall submit the article to the editorial office in electronic form, prepared in accordance with the journal’s established requirements regarding structure, content, and technical formatting.

Submission of an article to the editorial office means that the author:

confirms the originality of the submitted material;

guarantees the absence of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and other violations of academic integrity;

agrees with the journal’s editorial policy;

gives consent to undergo the peer-review and editorial processing procedure;

confirms the accuracy of the information provided about the author and the research results;

gives consent to the processing of his/her personal data.

After the manuscript is received by the editorial office, the article undergoes an initial editorial review, during which its compliance with the journal’s profile, technical requirements, the presence of all necessary structural elements, and adherence to the principles of academic integrity are checked.

If the manuscript meets the established requirements, it is submitted for peer review. If the article requires technical or substantive revision before the start of peer review, the editorial office informs the author accordingly.

All editorial notifications, reviewers’ comments, and decisions regarding the submitted manuscript are sent to the author by electronic means.

The editorial office reserves the right to reject a manuscript without sending it for peer review if it does not correspond to the journal’s scope, does not comply with formatting requirements, contains signs of academic misconduct, or does not meet the required scientific level.

 

Publication Fee

The Scientific and Technical Journal “Technogenic and Ecological Safety” does not charge any fees for submission, consideration, peer review, editorial processing, preparation of materials, or publication. The journal operates as a non-profit publication and follows the diamond open access model, which ensures free and unrestricted dissemination of scientific results.

Publication of scientific articles in the journal is free of charge for all authors without exception. This rule also fully applies to third-level (educational and scientific / PhD) higher education students. In particular, for such students studying under state-funded education and preparing a scientific article individually, publication is also free of charge.
